Week 3 News:
  • Baidu Targets Mobile Sector: Chinese search giant will invest a lot of money to build a cloud computing facility and unveiled a new mobile Web browser to capitalize on China's booming mobile sector. Baidu Technology Innovation is investing in about 1.6 billion to build a "cloud facility".
  • Facebook knows more about you: Facebook is in the process of producing a database which will be sold to government agencies like the FBI in order track how you use the internet, sites you have visited, people you have chatted with, people you are in communication with.

Week 4 News:
  • Smartphones vulnerable to security risks in the future, including hacking. Smartphones are largely unprotected by antivirus software, but cyberattacks slow to convert to smartphones because PC attacks, notably on Windows, are still profitable. Online banking and shopping on smartphones make it a hacking target, and will continue to do so in the future.
